Mary’s Song, My Song

01 26 Luke 1.39-56 The greeting of Elizabeth and Mary is more than just a welcome, it is an anthem of praise for all God has done for them.  It includes praise for what God will do for future generations.  They teach us that in all circumstances God can and should be praised.  While I will never experience the events of Mary, she teaches that I have cause to praise God.  In that respect her song, can be my song.  I have reason to praise God for the gift of the Messiah and the salvation He offers to all.  Is her song, your song?

I Am Your Servant

01 19 14 Luke 1.26-38 The account of the angel’s message to Mary that she had been chosen to bear the Messiah is packed with more than just what we tell at Christmas about the virgin birth. We see through the examples of the angel Gabriel and this young maiden, Mary, the very heart of what it is to be a servant of God.  Is that our desire and our practice?  Are we willing to serve or would we rather be served?  They give us some great keys to being a servant.

Duty, Devotion, Disbelief

01 12 Luke 1.5-25 Zachariah gives us an important point to remember when it comes to our work.  Remember that whatever we are doing, we are serving God.  He gives us an important point to remember that each day we should strive to be righteous and blameless in the eyes of God.  He gives us an important point to remember that no matter what God says, He will keep His Word.  We need to believe not doubt.  He is faithful to keep His Word and He is powerful to do it.
